Mamta and Vicky are wanted
for illegally manufacturing and exporting Ephedrine and party drug

the Arshie Complex flats may be attached, anytime now.
A
visit to Arshie Complex by this journalist yesterday morning to check if the
attachment has been carried out, yielded a meeting with a stern watchman who
said that he would have to consult the building's treasurer Mr Sinha, if we
could click the pictures of Mamta Kulkarni's flats' doors. Mr Sinha then did
not allow, and he was not interested in speaking about the matter also.

We also have it that Mamta and Vicky have stopped paying
the society. Their cheques stopped coming ever since Mamta was named in the
drug scandal and she went absconding.
A month later, Mamta hired top-notch lawyers to
fight her case.

The entire case began in
April last year, when Thane police seized Rs 2,000 crore-worth of the banned
party drug Ephedrine. Later, based on information given by 2 arrested peddlers, the cops found 18,000 kg of the
drug in a factory owned by Avon Lifesciences in Solapur. Mamta, they found out,
is on the company’s board of directors and owns shares worth Rs 11 lakh. Not
just that, an accused also testified that she was part of business meetings in
which details of the drug trade and distribution were discussed.
